Skywave DX

Terms of use

Last updated October 14, 2026

These terms apply when you use skywavedx.com and the Skywave DX app (“Skywave DX”, “we”). By using it you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

1. What Skywave DX is

Skywave DX is a free directory and player for publicly available internet radio streams, and a way to listen to shortwave through public KiwiSDR receivers that their owners share. We don’t produce, own or control any station’s programmes or any receiver. Programmes belong to their broadcasters; receivers to their owners.

2. Using it fairly

You agree not to:

  • record, re-broadcast or sell stations’ programmes beyond what the law allows for personal use;
  • use scripts or bots against the site, the stream relay, the receivers or the stats service, or get around their limits;
  • fake likes, plays, reports or leaderboard catches, or use someone else’s nickname;
  • use the site to attack, overload or probe other systems;
  • post anything unlawful, abusive or misleading in nicknames, reports or messages.

We may limit or block access that breaks these rules, and remove leaderboard entries that weren’t earned fairly.

3. What you send us

Nicknames you put on the leaderboard are public. Reports, messages and other things you send may be used to run and improve Skywave DX. Don’t send anything you don’t have the right to share. How we handle data: Privacy.

4. Names, logos and removal

Station names, logos and programmes are the property of their owners and are shown only to identify the station. If you own a station or its rights and want it removed, or think something here infringes your rights, use Copyright & removal.

5. Other sites and services

Streams, receivers, logos, map images and links come from other people’s servers. We aren’t responsible for their content, availability or policies.

6. No guarantees

Skywave DX is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Stations and receivers come and go; schedules, rankings, distances and alarms may be wrong or late. Don’t rely on Skywave DX for emergencies, safety or navigation information.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Skywave DX. Our total liability for any claim is limited to US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits; then they apply as far as the law allows.

8. Changes

We may change Skywave DX or these terms. The date above shows the latest version; continuing to use the service means you accept it.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
